What is Podiatry?
Podiatry assesses and corrects problems arrising from the biomechanical function of the feet. Our podiatrist analyses the mechanical movment of the feet and when necessary, this may include examining the way you walk using a state-of-the-art foot pressure analysis. Incorrect alignment of the bones of the foot can result in non-specific back, hip, knee and ankle pain.
These tests allow the podiatrist to make an accurate diagnosis and then implement a variety of treatment regimes specifically tailored towards improving the structure and function of the lower limb. The majority of ailments affecting the lower extremities can be treated with prescription insoles called orthotics which are worn in your footwear.
